Valarie's Girl Talk

Heips,

Valarie has published new kit: Girl Talk.
So awesome and colorful. You can get this kit from her shops: Pretty Scrappy, BTST and Digital Paper Hearts.

Photo of my kids was taken at Vappu, 1st of May.

The end of April marks a very special time on the Finnish calendar; the beginning of Spring. Vappu is the closest thing you'll find to Carnival in this part of the world, an unrivaled, two-day Finnish celebration held the length and breadth of the country. All the places are full of balloons and serpentine. And kids just love it.

Memories from India

Heips
Valarie has new kit Sweet Nothings available at
Been There, Scrapped That. Coloring of this kit is so sweet and spicy. I really love this and you know why?
Because spicy coloring of this kit is just perfect for my India pictures. Last year I spent 2 weeks in India, visiting cities Delhi, Agra and Bangalore. One of my wish came true and I was able to visit Taj Mahal, most amazing place I have ever been. And photos really don't do justice about that place, it is huge, beautiful, magical and you can literally feel the history while being there. But I'm gonna tell more about it later.

I love animals and my favorite animal is white tiger. I visited Bannergatta National Park, Bangalore during my trip and they had so many different animals in their park, also white tigers. First time in my life I was actually able to see my favorite animal in real, pretty amazing.
My LO today does not contain photos of tigers, but other animals from the park. I will post more photos next time.

Templates number 8 + 0

Heips,
I finally had time and motivation to finalize my next templates - number 8 and matching 0.
Font used: Bookman Old Style (format: Bold)

I wasn't able to find free version of this font, it seems to be commercial font. I'm not sure have I got it with one font CD or is it belonging to standard font package.
As always, I would love to see what you have created with my templates :o)

Have fun and leave some love if you like it.

It was done with Valarie's kit Little Rascal, which I totally adore. The Lizard is my favorite.
You can download it from our CT Blog: Valarie Ostrom CT

Freebie Valentine Kit: Carved in Stone

Heips

I started creating this kit last September, but middle of doing it I lost the idea, the motivation. So I dropped it, until Friday this week. I got a new program and started testing it, somewhere I got this idea of trying different things with hearts. I just put all these tests and old stuff together and here is my Valentine kit for you.

Meeri's 7th birthday

Meeri is now officially 7!
Our birthday present to her was earrings: golden with pink diamonds. We took her to this jewellery shop, where they made holes to her earlobes and she was able to pick up the earrings she liked most.

I'm sharing some of the birthday party photos with you. Theme was really success, all our relatives liked it and specially the Skull Cake. No piece was left from it, it was totally eaten.
I found really great page of skulls, which had this skull paper model and we hang couple of those to lamp above the table.
Skull a Day

I used Valarie's Simple Inspirations 4 - Happy Birthday kit for this LO. I just love the colors.
You can get it from Color Line Design and Been There, Scrapped That.

Kit: Your Special Day

Heips,

Today is my oldest daughter 7th birthday. I can't believe how fast years have gone by. It feels like she was just born and now she is already 7. Before I realize she will be a teenager! Huh!
Here is the photo, which we sent to our local news paper.
And guess what is the theme of her Birthday Party?
Princess Skull!!!!
It really took some time to adjust to this theme, where did all princess and fairy stuff disappeared? And it really wasn't easy to find some stuff for the party. Those skulls are not so popular here in Finland. So we just had to be creative and do most of the stuff by ourselves, now we have house full of all kind of skeleton stuff :o)
And about invitation, she wanted to have picture where she is inside the mouth of the princess skull. I have to admit that it was the most hilarious photoshooting ever, when we were trying to take a picture for invitation. She was making so funny faces that I just couldn't stop laughing and most of the photos were out of focus because I couldn't stand still.

My new freebie kit: Your Special Day, is created specially for her. She loves bright colors and she is such a lively and outgoing person. It is mainly containing all kind of number stuff because of the birthday theme. I hope you like it.

And don't worry, those missing templates will be published soon. I just haven't had time to finish those yet.

Happy Scrappin'

Layouts with Valarie Ostrom Desings kits

Heips

Wow, it is year 2009 already. I really cannot believe it, where did year 2008 disappeared?
I have suddenly noticed that time goes by REALLY quickly, specially since I got my children. It feels like Meeri was born just couple of weeks ago and now she is going to have her 7th birthday already this month. Scary.... because all of this means that soon I'm going to have my own birthday ~ and I'm going to be 40!!!!

Well, enough rambling... I have lot of things to show to you. I have spend some great moments with Valarie Ostrom's kits. I belong to her CT, remember ;o)
I'm really happy with these LO's, specially the one I did to Roni, our godson. I totally love the alpha&numbers Valarie has created for the kit.
All these kits are available at Color Line Design. The shop is having a makeover, so the site is still down, but should be up and running within couple of days. But meanwhile enjoy and start making your own shopping list.

Happy Scrappin and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!
JohannaL

LO: Roni's 10th birthday

Our godson Roni had his 10th birthday last July.
He is a huge fan of Disney Cars movie, so we gave him the DVD and several small cars - all gift wrapped individually.

He is very dear to us and he was born at the same year we got married.
His mom (my best friend) was my maid of Honour and very heavily pregnant on our wedding day at April.

LO: My new smile

Meeri lost another teeth at 10th of September and of course I had to memorize her new smile with my camera.
I really had fun with those staples, it felt similar as in real life. LOL
